The focus of school psycho-social services as one programme under the Special Needs Education Services (SNES), is on addressing the emotional, behavioural and social support needs of learners that are at risk of learning breakdown, educational marginalization and school dropout.
Underpinning the services offered by the programme is the view that support programmes addressing psycho-social issues have the potential to have positive outcomes for the life-long development and the future livelihoods of affected learners.
Services offered within the programme include:
Assessment of social, emotional and behavioural needs of learners,
Counselling,
Specialized learner support programmes addressing psycho-social issues and
Prevention and education programmes on psycho-social issues
