Mr Sipho Emmanuel Hlomuka currently holds the position of Member of the Executive Council, MEC for Education in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal, a role to which he was appointed on June 18, 2024.<\/p>

Before assuming this responsibility, he served as the KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety, and Liaison.<\/p>

Hlomuka has achieved academic success, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 2020, an Honours Degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2003-2004). His secondary education was completed at Siyamukela High School in 1999.<\/p>

Alongside his role as MEC, Hlomuka holds the position of ANC Deputy Secretary in KZN. He has held various leadership positions within the organization, including as Secretary of ANC uKhahlamba Region (December 2014 to July 2018), Deputy Secretary of ANC uKhahlamba Region (March 2012 to December 2014), Chairperson of ANC Youth League uKhahlamba Region (June 2009 to November 2016), and Board member of KZN NYDA for two years.<\/p>

Before his current tenure, Hlomuka served as the Chief Operations Officer at the Ladysmith\/Mnambithi Local Municipality (June 2013 to February 2015) and as the District Manager at uThukela for the Department of Public Works (April 2008 to May 2013).<\/p>
