NSC Examinations

The National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations commonly known as “matric” have become an annual event of major public significance in South Africa. It not only signifies the culmination of twelve years of formal schooling but the NSC examination is one of the key barometers to indicate the state of health of the education system. This examination which attracts attention from all sectors of society has made significant progress over the last 152 years since the first formal examination was conducted in South Africa under the University of the Cape of Good Hope in 1858. The NSC stands on the shoulders of years of tradition and development in assessment since that first examination in 1858.

Application For Duplicate Matric Certificate
For application the following documents are required:-

  1. Copy of an ID, certified
  2. Fill in an application form that you can download from our website, www.kzneducation.gov.za or you can acquire from any of our Exams offices
  3. Proof of payment. You need to pay an amount of R80 for the duplicate certificate and R34 if you also need a statement which totals to R114
  4. The banking details are as follows:- ABSA Bank, Account No: 4072483555, Reference: 05024033
    Name of Account: KZN Department of Education. The statement of results will be printed on the date of submission of the abovementioned documents. Please note duplicate certificate takes up to 3 months to be printed.
