ICT Support


Schools requiring ICT Support must adhere to the following:

  • Phone the center for IT Technicians attention and explain the problem.
  • A form will be faxed to the school or downloaded from the KZN education website;
  • The school must fill in the form and fax it to 031-2087064
  • Transport must be provided by the school for the IT support to be carried out
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection is the only Software that can be provided for the schools by the IT technician.
  • All other hardware and software expenses will be borne by the school.
Library and Media Centre

The Library and Media Centre is open to all educators and department officials. It is a lending Library so users are required to complete a Membership Form in order to become Registered Library Members. On application for membership, users are required to produce the following: (1) Original Bar-coded Identity Document or Driver’s Licence, (2) Proof of Current Residential or Institution Address (3) Contact Number. Items may be taken out on loan for a period of three weeks. Renewing an item/s may be done telephonically and the renewal period is for one week. Resource material includes: fiction and non-fiction books, reference books, charts, video cassettes, DVD’s, audio cassettes as well as Internet access. The Library and Media Centre operates during the following times:

Monday: 07:30 – 15:30
Tuesday: 07:30 – 15:30
Wednesday: 07:30 – 15:30
Thursday: 07:30 – 15:30
Friday: 07:30 – 14:30

Clients requesting printing must carry out the following procedure:

  • Bring the master copy to the Centre in order to obtain a quotation
  • Attach Quotation to EF72
  • Obtain BUDGET APPROVAL from Procurement Section
  • Obtain the necessary stationery i.e. duplicating paper, stationery etc.
  • Check when you can be accommodated and how long printing will take
  • Printing will commence when BUDGET APPROVAL is given to the Centre
  • No copyright material will be printed
  • The Centre does not provide paper
Venue Booking

Prior booking can be made either telephonically or online booking. The booking must be confirmed by fax or email, with the following details:

  • Name of Workshop/Meeting
  • Date of Workshop/Meeting
  • Name and Contact Number of Convenor
  • Estimated number of delegates attending
  • Time of meeting
  • Equipment required (if available at the Centre)
  • Type of setting required i.e. conference, classroom etc.
